Cottontail Trail
Cottontail Trail is a merchandise brand that will sell products to commemorate camping and hiking trips. The merchandise will bear the logo for the brand, “Cottontail Trail.” The logo should encourage feelings of adventure and the peace in being one with nature. Whether alone or with a group, the brand should touch on the feeling of nostalgia. The struggle the brand will face comes from today’s largely digital culture. What this brand is setting out to do is to encourage younger people to go outside and explore the natural world around them.
The target audience will consist of those who may be curious about camping and hiking. In general, the audience would be within the teen to younger adult age range as they will be more likely to want to have the memorabilia to look back on their camping trips.
The logo will be designed using an illustration of a hilly landscape with trees and a path or stream. The design is to allow the logo to be a badge or patch a camper can use to attach to their bags or jackets. Colors will be reminiscent of several national parks across the country, implying it will be a brand that can be found at any national park.
There will be a webpage and social media page designed to generate awareness for these products. Each with messages of memories made on various excursions that may come off as desirable experiences that the younger generation would like to have. Camping and hiking are also associated as being a shared experience, so this may in turn bring in others looking to make memories with friends and family.
